Not Your Typical Tuesday

June 30, 2009

Our lease is up at the end of July, so we decided to “look-around” at some townhouses on Sunday just to see what was available.  Low and behold, we ended-up filling-out an application!  This particular townhouse just went on the market and has received a lot of interest.  But, in the end, we got it! Here’s a picture of Lea just after we found out.

Over lunch we decided to pay a visit to the Farmer’s Market at the SF Ferry Building.  Arguably one of the best Farmer’s Markets in the country, this one takes place on Saturday and Tuesday of every week, all year long!  Tuesday’s is a slimmed-down version, but has some great fruit finds.

Again, the stone-fruit this time of year brings tears of joy.

That night we road our bikes to our new townhouse to sign the lease!  Our road runs through Hillsborough – we’ll explain later – it’s beautiful, and connects with Crystal Springs Road.  Perfect location for some budding cyclists!  We ran up to the reservoir, and then back down to JP’s to check-out his most recent shipment from Down Under.  All-in-all we logged just under 13 miles on the bike.

We decided to try a new Burmese restaurant in downtown Burlingame.  Sheer delight.   What a gem.  For a starter we did the Palatha (Burmese Crispy Pancake with curry dipping sauce).  For mains we had the Rainbow Chicken, Burmese Style Curry Chicken, and Asparagus Spicy Fish.  Each was phenomenal.  It was our first experience with Burmese food, and the menu did a nice job of describing it – like Thai, but not as hot; like Indian, but not as spicy; and NOT like Chinese except for the stir-fried veggies.  Did I say how absolutely fresh and delicious this food was?!  And the left-overs were almost better the next day for lunch!
