Bikin’ and Tubbin’

July 29, 2009

Tonight we took the night off from any and all chores and went for a leisurely bike ride down Sawyer Camp Trail.  We’ve been busy running around so much the past few weeks that my bike seat actually felt a little foreign.  But not in a good way. 🙂  It’s 13 miles R/T end-to-end, but we took plenty of breaks to stop and take in the scenery.  Here are a few shots.

Took this one at about 15 mph.  No big deal…

It’s a gradual uphill climb on the way out, which means, of course, that it’s downhill on the way back.  I was cruising at a pretty good clip when I saw these little guys in the middle of the trail and had to slam on the brakes.  They were more curious than scared, I think.  Check out the video and you’ll see that they let us get pretty close.

Pictures don’t always do these kinds of things justice, so I’ve resorted to taking a couple short videos.  Here’s a quick clip of the ride.

We ended the night by soaking our bones in the hot tub.  One, because who doesn’t like to do that?  And two, this was our last opportunity because we’re moving into our new place today!  It really wasn’t an easy decision to move, though.  Here’s what we’re giving up…

Check back this weekend for a special Guest Blog appearance.  JP’s going to the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Napa Thursday night to eat dessert for dinner…
