What Shall I Call It?
February 3, 2011
Dear Diary,
Today was freakin’ awesome. First I went surfing in the morning with my friends, Brett and Gene and the dolphins.
This is Brett.
And this is Gene.
Gene took a little tumble.
But it’s OK because he recovers nicely.
Then I had “class” where I listened to a speaker for a couple hours before going home to wash the ocean and neoprene smell off.
When Lea came home, we turned right back around to meet our friends, Kate and Michael, for dinner at R&D Kitchen in Santa Monica (I also learned today that people sometimes shorten it to SaMo – so LA), where we sat next to Luke Wilson. It was totally Mitch-A-Palooza from Old School. Anyway, we had some kick ass cheeseburgers and Michael brought a bottle of the ’97 Wolf Blass “Black Label” (same stuff from Thanksgiving). Best part…no corkage. Yeah! I know!
But that’s not all. Then we all met up with our friends, Michael and Elizabeth, across the street at the Aero Theater to see The King’s Speech. If you haven’t seen it, Diary, go. You. Will. Love it! Then, guess what. Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter came on stage for Q&A. The “King” and “Queen” in the flesh!
Damn, Diary. It was a really good day. 🙂
Did you enjoy the film? At times it brought tears to my eyes. And we both thought it was a great history refresher. Tell Lea, again, thanks for the heads up on seeing it.
Mom
Thanks for the great introduction.
