Good grief.  I’ve heard some recent debate as to the proper assignment of the “B” in the term, B-school.  Business…B grades…what about Busy!  My Sunday Funday feels like eons ago, and I apologize for the delay.  If I may be brief and under serve the true awesomeness of the day…we met up with JP’s good friends, Matt & Courtney Hamilton, down in Huntington Beach, O.C.  And they had a full slate of events prepared for us.

Item 1: Morning Surf  (Jared, Matt, Me)

Matt moved out to Huntington Beach after graduating from Iowa State about 10 years ago, and his tenure reflects highly in his surf skills.

Can you see what JP’s pointing to in this photo?  We didn’t even realize it until a week after Lea took this picture, but she inadvertently caught two bottlenose dolphins breaching the water (see top-left). It was my first dolphin encounter on the West Coast, and now I seem to see them all the time. In fact, not to brag or nuttin’, but I saw two dolphins breach when I was driving to school last week. SoCal and me…we’re gettin’ along alright.

Matt just kept shredding. Lea got a ton of these series!

Here’s proof that I actually got up on a short board. Though, not with the same flash as Matt. In fact, this really isn’t doing much to boost my self confidence.

Item 2: Beach Boardwalk Bar Crawl…on cruisers 🙂

Forget Cougar Town. This is Cruiser Town. Everyone has a cruiser. I never would’ve imagined it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we end with a pair…

First stop was at Mutt’s.

Item 3: Sunday Funday Dinner

On the way home, the Hamiltons showed us a great meat market – Stater Bros. These are the thickest mother lovin’ strips I’ve ever seen!
