The Good, the Bad and the Pretty

October 13, 2009

The Good – I sincerely apologize for my recent absence from the blog.  On a positive note, I’m happy to see so many people noticed!  I’ve been spending all of my free time researching web development, and have finally decided to jump in head first and design my own website!  Picture…this blog after a face lift, plus some tasty enhancements.  Because I don’t have any formal training, it’ll be a steep learning curve.  But when it’s done, it’ll be bad ass.  And that’s a promise. 🙂

The Bad – In order to complete said website to said expectations, I am hereby going on hiatus from the blog until the new website is complete…hopefully before Thanksgiving.  Fortunately, I’ve received a lot of great feedback on this blog, and want to incorporate as many requests as possible.  For example, a dedicated wine page will be complete with a ratings table, how to’s, and wine 101.  If you have any other suggestions and/or requests, please let me know.  Seriously!

The Pretty – I want to go out (temporarily) on a high note.  Here’s some stuff you didn’t hear about, but should’ve (again, I’m sorry!):

Our team went to a Giants Game to build some camaraderie.  Instead, Emily tried to fit an entire chicken sandwich in her mouth, and Neil got so drunk we had to carry him home.  (Just kidding).

We went to a Killers concert!  For a big outdoor venue, I usually don’t have high expectations.  But there was a spectacular light show, and they even played some oldies, including The Righteous Brothers.  High marks, fellas. We also managed to sneak in the equivalent of 4 wine bottles!  It’s a really great little trick – we just took the bladder out of a boxed wine (they make some good ones, by the way), and after learning that it didn’t fit down our pants without attracting attention, we just laid it at the bottom of our picnic basket.  Bada bing!

JP and I went to Bodega Bay.  We stopped at a place for BBQ oysters, but they failed to tell us that each oyster was the size of a baby elephant.  However, if you like your oysters chock full of poop, you would LOVE these!  Not our taste, and it was probably the first thing either of us have ever decided that we could not eat.  But the beer was good!

This past Saturday, Lea and I went for a stroll through Purisima Creek Redwoods Preserve.  Step for step, it’s the prettiest and easiest trail around.  It feels like cheating, being so close to this kind of beauty without having to really work for it.

OK.  That’s it!  Peace out boyscout.  If you want to join the facebook fan page, I’ll send an update to everyone when we’re back up and running!

Cheers
