Morgan Enters His Late-Twenties
July 12, 2010
Last day of the trip was also Morgan’s birthday. He turned 27. Now, there was some debate among friends as to whether 27 is mid- or late-twenties, but I’m in the late camp. By this point, you’re pretty much full blown a-dult, and you just can’t get away with the things you used to. Then again, Morgan is the cardinal example that age is just a state of mind. In his case, he’s 27 going on 12. I mean, just look at him. 🙂
It’s alright from the back, too.
After a ritual morning dip and sunsoak, we went for a late birthday lunch at Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse. It’s located in the Gold Coast, and about a block from the beach.
It’s a ritzy part of town, and our sidewalk table granted some great car and people watching.
Fortunately, they have a reasonably priced lunch menu, and Morgan swears by the Gold Coast Sliders. We both opted for two filet and one tuna salad. It was sooo good.
And since we were celebrating a birthday, we had to finish lunch with some birthday cake! Macadamia Turtle Pie.
This thing must have a week’s worth of calories, split between the four of us. It’s HUGE.
But damn was it good. We actually made a much bigger dent than I would’ve thought, and this is all that was left when we were through.
Phew! Stu-uffed. Now all we needed was our ritual nap session, and we were set for the sad trip home. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but I do not handle leaving vacation with family / friends well. I start to slump into a sentimental state of mind, and the first day back at work is shot. Fortunately, it’s good friends like these who are always game for the next fun trip!
Cheers!
It is alright from the back!! I am sad I missed out. Love you guys.
