Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig
August 19, 2010
When we left off last time, we were in need of a drink. Later that day…
Bob’s margaritas! While the recipe looks simple, that’s really the beauty of it. He’s spent tireless summer evenings perfecting this recipe, and I can personally attest that they are they best margaritas. Period. You’re welcome:
1 part tequila
1 part fresh squeezed lime juice
1 part water
3/4 part simple syrup (of which: 1 part sugar, 1 part water, bring to a boil)
3/4 part Cointreau
Shake with ice and serve in a cold, salt-rimmed glass.
Later that evening, on their way home from a family trip to South Dakota, my sister’s family swung into town in time for dinner. As soon as they walked inside, the first thing my nephew, Tyler, wanted to do was go “expwowing.” So we went outside to expwow (explore).
While we were out there, Tyler showed me his best T-rex. It’s a good one!
Soon after, dinner was getting ready to be thrown on the barbie. Good ol’ Iowa chops and beef.
Served with a side of sweet corn and summer tomatoes.
What can I say? Life is good!
Cheers!
