Benji’s Big Family Debut
July 28, 2014
Week three showed some pretty great developmental progress. Ben’s clearly tracking with his eyes and intently studying faces. It feels like he’s seeing us for the first time. This morning he heard his mommy walk into the room, and his eyes never left her until she walked past him. It felt like a huge leap.
He also still definitely likes to be held, no matter what time of day (or night), which was good because Gramma Jane came up for the week to help Lea around the house and bond with her newest grandbaby. She brings an incredible calming presence, which I predict we’re really going to come to appreciate. It was the happiest, most fulfilling week I can remember.
Other highlights this week include the Annual Weiland Family Reunion at the farm in Garner, which was our first family road trip! (First of MANY). Since we were in town, we also scheduled an impromptu reunion for the Prohaska side of the family. Between the two reunions and church, our little Benji Boy came home smelling like a bouquet of perfume and aftershave. It was a big weekend, so after a quick bath, he was down for the count. Now, if he would only stay that way until 6:00 tomorrow morning…
